When I first started planning our trip to Jamaica, it was just supposed to be a nice little vacation for us before Selma begins medical school and I start my new job. I had no idea at the time that we would be engaged before the trip but it just so happened that it worked out that way ๐
After weeks of reading every review on TripAdvisor, I finally settled on the Jewel Paradise Cove Resort and Spa in Runaway Bay. It’s a smaller adults only resort which was exactly what I was looking since we wanted a relaxing vacation without screaming babies or children running around. Plus, it had a bunch of included excursions and activities like a trip to Konoko Falls and snorkeling tours that usually cost extra at other resorts. If you are considering a vacation to the caribbean, I would highly suggest going the all-inclusive route. It’s way more affordable and you can truly relax and not have to worry about a thing. And if you are considering a trip to Jamaica, I would hands down recommend this resort.
At check-in, they had an option for you to put down if it was your wedding, honeymoon, or anniversary. Because they didn’t have engagementmoon as an option, I put down that it was our anniversary. One night when we came back to the room, we had this beautiful little treat waiting for us. Even though it’s an all-inclusive place, it’s really nice that they go above and beyond to make your trip special.
And because this is a food blog after all, I did take a few pictures of our dinner one evening. Sorry in advance for the fuzzy pictures. The lighting was bad and I probably had one too many drinks at this point…
Overall, we did not have one bad meal our entire stay. i read a lot of reviews about how limited/bad the food was but we didn’t have a single complaint. We ate at most of the restaurants and each meal was amazing. They had everything from sushi to brick oven pizza and everything in between so there was certainly something for everyone.
And the beauty of staying at an all-inclusive resort was that even if we didn’t get enough to eat, we would always just go to another restaurant or hit up the late night grill (which I did every night).
Everything about this resort from the food to the activities were perfect. We did everything from sailing to snorkeling and even took a trip to climb the Konoko Falls (which were all included!). Unfortunately, the GoPro died before we got to the falls so I didn’t get any footage from there ๐ But I did get some awesome footage of multiple sunsets! Needless to say, we never got tired of the views.
Finally, the best part about our stay was the staff. They were the nicest and most enthusiastic people we’ve ever met. They are what made this experience so memorable.
One final suggestion…I would definitely recommend getting a GoPro for any trip that involves water. They are so versatile and make capturing video and pictures a breeze. Plus, they all come with waterproof cases so you can take them anywhere without worrying about them getting wet or destroyed. I used mine for most of the trip so I made a video for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
