After my sprint tri, I was famished. It had been a long day and I was just looking to intake as many calories as possible at once. On my drive back, I passed Shake Shack and I immediately started craving a burger and a shake. Selma always raves about Shake Shack so I thought it was time for me to see what all the fuss was about.
The first thing you will notice about this place is the constant line out the door. It reminded me of an In-N-Out Burger because it always seems to be packed at all hours of the day.
If you come, be prepared to wait in line. But while you’re waiting, you can carefully craft your meal with a few of their numerous options. They have everything from burgers and shakes to beer and ice cream floats.
I got my order to go but decided to just eat it there since I had already been there for awhile.
I wanted to keep it simple so I order the ShackBurger – Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and their famous ShackSauce.
And a Fair Shake – 100% fair trade coffee shake.
First the burger. It was indeed really good. I now see why this place has gained such a loyal following. Definitely pricey for it’s size, but the meat was cooked perfectly and the ShackSauce was amazing. The shake, however, was my favorite part. I love coffee anything so I was really happy with my decision. It tasted exactly like a Jamocha Shake from Arby’s (which is my favorite shake in the whole world).
From start to finish, the process took about 45 minutes. 20 minutes in line, 24 minutes for the food to be ready, and then 1 minute to eat everything.Thinking back on it, I should have ordered more food. Was it worth it you ask? Totally. But if you are dying of starvation, this is not the place for you. However, if you have some time to kill, I would definitely recommend checking out Shake Shack if you’re ever in the area.
And with that, thanks for reading!
