The Pour House Burger Mania

posted in: Eating Out | 0

Oh yes, we’re back….again. Why? 1/2 priced food, that’s why! You may recall our previous adventures to The Pour House for brunch and their 1/2 priced chicken sandwich night. Both are great reasons to visit this fine establishment. However, last weekend after the Maker’s Mark Kentucky Derby event, we were craving some real food. Selma and I both had hamburger shaped holes in our tummies and Saturday night just happens to be burger night at The Pour House. It seems like the burger gods were smiling down on us that evening.

You can’t not get a beer when you come to The Pour House. I started off with a Harpoon Big Squeeze which is their grapefruit shandy. It has a tart finish and a pretty orange/pink hue. Of course, it’s only served in their 22oz. mugs which is fantastic.

Before looking over the entire menu, I immediately knew what I wanted. Anything with the great state of Texas on it automatically wins. It could have been anything and I would have gladly ordered it.

Here it is in all it’s glory. Complete with chips and salsa.

Selma got the Double Wisconsin Burger (double patties topped with crumbled blue cheese). I made her get the double. She later resented me for it.

The burger was delicious and messy, just the way I like it. The whole thing sort of fell apart once I touched it but the cheese held the burger patties together nicely. And obviously, the bacon, onions, and BBQ sauce were welcome additions.

Bigger is definitely better. Unless of course it’s a malignant brain tumor. In that case, bigger is not always better.

One thing about this place is that you have to seat yourself. That means waiting around for awhile to snatch up a table if it’s busy. We had a bit of a wait but it was well worth it in the end. If you ever find yourself in the area on a Sunday morning, Wednesday evening, or Saturday night, definitely stop by The Pour House for some good eats. You won’t be disappointed!

And with that, happy Friday and thanks for reading!
