Lulu’s Sweet Shoppe isn’t as well known as the other big name cupcakeries out there but they can definitely hold their own with the best of them. Located right in Boston’s North End, they offer some of the best looking/tasting cupcakes in town. We stumbled upon this place because of a Groupon and have been coming back ever since.
Located right on Salem St. in the North End, it’s easy to walk past this hole in the wall bakery. But don’t be fooled by the size of this bakery. What they lack in real estate they make up for in flavor. And even though they don’t have seating, their decor and assortment of various sweets are enticing enough to lure you in off the street.
They have so many flavors it’s hard to choose just a dozen. Our favorites are the red velvet cheesecake, tiramisu, chocolate turtle cheesecake, smore, and the chocolate salted caramel.
The thing we like most about Lulu’s is that their cupcakes are not overwhelming. They are the prefect consistency with just the right amount of sweetness. Plus, their varieties are creative, unique, and plentiful.
This little guy here is the chocolate and peanut butter complete with a little Reese’s on top.
And this is their chocolate turtle cheesecake. Look. at. that. ridiculousness.
We’ve been to most of the popular cupcake places in Boston and we agree that Lulu’s takes the cake (ha!) every time. If you are looking for some real cupcake magic, stray away from the main stream shops and give Lulu’s a try!
And with that, thanks for reading!
