ALSTDI Tri-State Trek Fundraiser and Raffle

posted in: Life Updates | 0

Yes, I have decided to add yet another ride to my event list this summer. And it just so happens to be the same weekend as Bike MS. I will only be participating in the 1-Day, 100 mile ride but good times will still be had for sure. However, with another ride comes yet another fundraiser.

For this ride, I am humbled to be joining TEAM AMERICA in their efforts to end ALS. TEAM AMERICA supports the fight against ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, through fundraising for the ALSTDI (Therapy Development Institute). Their actions are centered around the Tri-State Trek: an annual, 270-mile ride from Boston to New York. Their friend and inspiration, Steve Saling, was diagnosed with ALS in 2006. Despite the threat of losing his voice and all ability to move, he has remained steadfast in his refusal to give up hope. It is with him in mind that we continue our fight, and increase our commitment.

That’s right folks, if you have been following my schedule, I’m planning on riding 250 miles for charity over the course of 3 days. A dollar, one dollar per mile, even twenty-five freakin’ cents a mile is going to help.

You can find my fundraising page HERE!

As a special thank you, I would like to offer a little something extra for all those who help support my fundraising efforts. Every person who donates will be entered into a raffle for a home cooked meal by yours truly for you and 3 friends (this only applies to those in Boston, sorry!). The winner can choose anything in my Home Cooking section and I will make it happen. And for those who are not local, the winner can opt for a $25 Amazon gift card! As a added incentive, if you want to double or even triple your chances of winning, you can help support my other fundraising efforts for BikeMS the J&J Triathlon Team. Each donation will count as a separate entry so it is a win-win-win situation!

Thanks again for your support!
