Paintnite @ Clery’s!

Awhile back, Selma and I got a Groupon for a PaintNite event at Clery’s. PaintNite is essentially a painting class for adults. It’s held at a local bar and everything you need is included in the price (except drinks). You choose the venue based on the painting you want to do and simply show up. You can think of it as being out at a bar that just happens to have a painting class going on. It’s not meant to be taken seriously at all and the point is to just have fun and drink.

The night of our event, we decided to grab dinner at Clery’s because we both had to come over straight from work. I started off with Leinenkugel’s Orange Shandy which is really good if you like oranges. I’ve never had it before but I would definitely get it again.

Selma got the turkey burger with sweet potato fries which was surprisingly very tasty.

And I got the fried chicken sandwich with mozzarella and tots. It was good but nothing special.

After dinner, we went into the next room where the event was being held. They have your painting station set up for you so all you have to do is grab a set of brushes, your apron and your paint.

They give you 3 brush sizes and 5 colors of paint to work with.

This is the what the painting is supposed to look like.

The whole experience is pretty straightforward. The instructor explains the step and demonstrates it and then you replicate what she did.

Selma was intently listening to every step while I fooled around and took pictures.

Half way done. I really “stippled” the hell out of those trees.

And the final product!

Casually waiting for the T with my masterpiece.

Mine is on the left and Selma’s is on the right.

We would definitely recommend PaintNite if you’re looking for a casual night out. With the $25 Groupon, it was totally worth it and we’re for sure going again in the future. We had an awesome time painting while drinking and we now have not one but two pretty masterpieces! Who knows, these may even be worth a small fortune in the future…
