Le’s Vietnamese Cuisine

After searching far and wide for the best pho in Boston, I think we’ve finally found a winner. When it comes to pho, Le’s in Allston is hands down the best in town. For those of you who are not familiar with pho, it’s a soup. Specifically, it’s a popular Vietnamese street food consisting of a rich broth, rice noodles, various cuts of meat and herbs. Selma and I have been to various Vietnamese restaurants that each have their strong suits but for pho, we stick to Le’s.

When we come here, we already know exactly what we want. In fact, we come here so often that the owner already knows us. I usually get the #14 which is their largest bowl with all of the fixings. Selma gets essentially the same thing but slightly smaller and minus the tripe and tendon. In addition to having the best pho in town, they also have the best prices ($7.95 for their largest bowl!!!).

The food also comes out in minutes. Selma went to wash her hands and by the time she came back the food was already out. True story. Pictures below is the #14 in all of its’ glory. It’s the perfect combination of flavorful broth, noodles and various animal parts. My favorite is the tendon and tripe but I’m weird like that.

It’s also served with bean spouts, lime and fresh basil. Mix in some hoisin sauce and sriracha and you’re good to go.

For the serving size, price, and speed of service, you really can’t beat Le’s. And now that it’s getting colder out, there is nothing better than a huge bowl of pho to warm you up!
