Sausage & Peppers

Theres nothing better than some delicious wieners every now and then. This is another one of our quick and easy dinner options for when we don’t feel like making an effort for dinner.

Start with any sausage you prefer. There are a few ways to prep your sausages before searing or grilling them. My favorite method (which we didn’t do here) is to simmer them in some beer and onions for 5-10 min before throwing them on the pan/grill. This allows them to soak up the flavors of the beer and helps them cook all the way through.

But if you don’t have the time or the willpower, just plot them onto the pan on medium heat for 10-15 min. You can also poke little holes in them or score the casing to allow it to cook evenly.

While that’s going, dice up and sauté some onions and peppers.

Serve on a roll with spicy ground mustard.

Enjoy with a cold beer or a delicious cider. This cider in particular is the BEST cider I have ever had. The company is called Down East and they produce some of the most amazing hard cider in the world. Unlike other ciders, this one actually looks and tastes exactly like apple cider (none of that apple juice looking stuff). The only down side is that they are sold in packs of 4 and costs $8-$10 a pack depending on where you find it. But regardless, this cider is definitely worth a try!
