Martin’s Coffee Shop is one of my favorite breakfast destinations in all of Boston. This is your typical hole-in-the-wall diner that serves up the usuals at at very affordable price. However, just because they serve ordinary diner food does not mean they don’t do it extraordinarily well. It is located in the quaint little shopping plaza of Brookline Village and is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much. However, the constant line forming out of their door should automatically tell you that this place is a winner.
I have yet to take Selma here for breakfast but I did get a chance to bring her breakfast in bed (I know, still the best boyfriend ever). Selma was feeling a bit under the weather this past weekend so I ordered the eggs benedict and a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a buttery croissant for us to share in bed.
The eggs benedict pictured below was served with a hefty side order of home fries and a creamy hollandaise sauce. The eggs were poached beautifully and the salty Canadian bacon was a perfect compliment to the entire dish.
And the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a croissant was also amazing. Everything was made fresh before my eyes. I love it.
We also made some delicious coffee from a local coffee shop in PA next to where Selma lives. We always get a few bags ground to go so we can make it here in Boston ourselves.
I can’t wait to bring Selma back to try some of their other delicious creations. Their blueberry banana pancakes are the best.
